It takes a lot of time at first, and then you’ve just gotta keep entering them and eventually it will start to add up, i haven’t won anything for like two weeks though which rather sucks lets hope it picks up soon

Another New Win

So yesterday i awoke to find an email in my inbox from the good folks at WKD. I assume that a while ago i must have entered a competition to win a years supply or something and for a split second i thought thats what i had won but alas it was not the case. It turned out that it was just a t-shirt relating to the new limited edition purple WKD that they have just began marketing. Since its just a t-shirt it can’t be worth any more than a fiver so i shall assume its value to be around £5.

This brings the total so far to £52.42 which isn’t too bad but i hope to get some bigger wins soon because i really need to money.

A Quick Tip Or Two

It has come to my attention that a lot of people use a piece of software called Roboform to enter all their details into forms to complete entries to competitions quicker. I however have found from experience that it is not the best and can at times put all your details in the wrong boxes and most of all slows down your computer to the pace of a snail. So with this in mind i set out to try and find a better option. It was then that i came across LastPass which is an online alternative to Roboform and uses a cloud system to store passwords so i highly recommend it as it works very well and doesn’t slow down my computer at all.

Another simple piece of advice is only enter competitions for stuff that you may actually want to win. When i first started doing this i was simply entering anything that came up and that was a bad idea because although i have one 4 times it has all been stuff that i frankly couldn’t care less about with the exception being the DVD which i’ve yet to watch but apparently it’s actually quite good.

I hope soon i will get a few more worthwhile wins to try and bring my total up a bit but in the meantime i’ve just gotta keep plugging away.

Its been a pretty decent week for wins lately and it seems that the hard work is beginning to pay off and i’m starting to see them coming more regularly now.

Although it would be nice to win something awesome that I really wanted, Saturday’s win of Big Fat Gypsy Wedding on DVD is a step in the right direction since at least its not useless crap and i know people that might be interested in it.

This win which is valued on Amazon at £9.93 brings my total so far up to £47.42 which isn’t a bad start but i need to pick up the pace if i am to get anywhere near the huge target that I set myself!

2 Wins Over The Weekend

After a long spell without winning anything i was beginning to lose faith in my challenge but a couple of small wins over the weekend and this morning as i write this have restored it slightly.

Firstly on Saturday I was informed that i had one “Fast and Furious 5” goodies, this acted as a reminder to me to start only entering competitions for stuff I might actually want to win. I estimate the value of these goodies to be around £20 retail value so its the biggest win so far.

Secondly this morning i received an email from a healthy eating magazine saying that i had won 3 bottles of cordial. Which again isn’t something i particularly desired to win but i shall take it none the less since it adds to the total. The retail value of this win is £10.50 in total which further adds to the total.

About a week and a half ago i also thought i had won some tea but that seems to just be a nothing competition since no tea has ever actually materialised.

This brings my grand total so far to £37.49 which isn’t too bad thus far but i can’t wait to actually win something that I want.

So literally an hour after i make a post explaining about my target and my objectives i get an email from a competition i had entered into saying that i had won a book and that it would be dispatched to me ASAP. Now i’ve never heard of the book but its valued at £3.15 which gets me off the mark and its a nice feeling to get my first win under my belt and now to just keep on winning i hope. Fingers crossed i can continue like this and win some more stuff very soon. Pictures coming soon to prove that i did infact win this.

The Beginning! £10,000 In One Year

Hi there, this is the first post i will be making on this blog to explain what I am doing and why. Basically in my struggle for money and with the lack of jobs on the market at the moment for a student like me, I came to the conclusion that there had to be other ways to make some money on the side. I then came across the idea of competitions. Now i have always seen competitions advertised on TV and online but never thought to enter any of them since lets face it there’s no chance in hell of winning any of them because so many people enter them. After some more reading about them I came across websites explaining the simple logic that although the chances of winning them are small, the more you enter the more chances you have to win something. Using this as inspiration, I have set myself the somewhat extreme target of winning £10,000 worth of prizes by this time next year. Now this may seem like a very large number and it may seem impossible to win that much but from seeing what has been won by individuals far and wide, it gives me hope that i too can win and win big. This blog will be the story of my success or lack of success depending on how things go. I will post pictures of any winnings along with a running score of the amount of winnings so far. I began this mission 3 days ago and since then i have entered a few hundred competitions. I have yet to win anything but i believe it will take a while to get going at first and hopefully soon they shall build up a little bit to help me reach my goal.
